What are the guidelines for my password?
Passwords are case-sensitive and must:
- Be 7 or 8 characters
- Contain at least one uppercase letter, at least one lowercase letter and at least one number
- Not contain spaces or special characters such as !@#$%^&*()
- Not be the same as a previous password

1. What if I forgot my password?
If you already have a ForemostSTAR user name, but forgot your password, click the 'Set new password' link on the ForemostSTAR home page, and follow the instructions to change your password.
You may also call the ForemostSTAR Help Desk for assistance at 1-800-528-5995. The ForemostSTAR Help Desk is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET, Monday-Friday.

2. How do I change my password?
On the ForemostSTAR log in page, in the green 'Need Help?' box, look for the 'Set new password' link. Click the link and then:
- Enter your user name and click 'Submit.'
- Enter the answer to the challenge question where indicated.
- Tab to the 'Please type NEW Password' field.
- Enter a new password that is 7 to 8 characters long; contains at least one uppercase letter, at least one lowercase letter and at least one number; and does NOT contain any special characters.
- Enter it again in the 'Retype NEW Password' field and click 'Submit.'

3. Why do I get a message that tells me my password is expired?
ForemostSTAR users have to change their password every 178 days. If you have not changed your password in 178 days, you'll need to enter a new one. You may enter a new password on the ForemostSTAR log in screen, or by clicking the 'Set new password' link.

4. Why did I get a message that told me my password is not valid?
The possible reasons are:
- The password that was entered is incorrect.
- The password being used is a previous one, making it invalid.
- The password must be 7 to 8 characters long; contain at least one uppercase letter, at least one lowercase letter and at least one number; and CANNOT contain any special characters.
Note: ForemostSTAR allows five attempts to log in. After the fifth failed attempt, you will lock your account and must call the ForemostSTAR Help Desk at 1-800-528-5995 to have it unlocked.

5. Why did I get a message that told me my user name has been revoked?
ForemostSTAR must be used at least once every 180 days for an account to remain active. This security measure is a safeguard against someone attempting to use your account without authorization. To reset your user name, set a new password or contact the ForemostSTAR Help Desk at 1-800-528-5995.

6. How do I sign up for a user name for ForemostSTAR?
We have a convenient online form you can fill out and submit. New user names are usually processed within two business days. Or, you can contact the ForemostSTAR Help Desk at 1-800-528-5995 to sign up right over the phone.

8. How do I activate my user name?

9. What if I forgot my user name?
On the ForemostSTAR log in page in the green 'Need Help?' box, click on the 'Forgot user name' link and then:
- Enter the E-mail address associated with user name and click 'Submit.' If you are unsure of the email address, or are receiving errors upon entering it, please call 1-800-528-5995 for assistance.
- Enter the answer to the challenge question where indicated and click 'Submit.'
- The user name will be emailed to the email address provided.
- If you do not receive the email, or you need further assistance, please call 1-800-528-5995.
